I just found out the Beach Theater in St. Pete closed. While perpetually overshadowed by the Tampa Theater when it came to indie film, it was nice to have this theater virtually in my backyard. It was even the theater my boy, probably around six or seven weeks old sleeping through the entirety of a matinee of Mulholland Dr., enjoyed his first movie in.
My last memory, probably right around the time this picture was taken, was seeing Stop Making Sense there with some work friends… hope someone buys it and reopens it someday.
